Therapy with Adults
As an adult, you face stressors in your present life. You face challenges brought on from the past. You are sometimes uncertain about your future. All this can cause distress. Our clinicians know how to meet you where you are and go at your pace. We understand you cannot stop your life to process the difficulties that arise. Give us a call to discuss your goals and the best way to meet them. Our individual sessions for adults are 50 minutes and designed for you to work at your own pace through talk therapy or EMDR.

Ages 13 - 17
Therapy with Adolescents
The adolescent years are full of wonderful and very difficult times. It can be difficult to know how to navigate the full range of emotions brought on by the teen years. Our clinicians know how to work with all of this. We are trained in different approaches to assist your adolescent through this development stage, teaching self-worth and skills to combat difficult times. Our individual sessions for adolescents are 50 minutes and designed for your teen to work at their own pace through talk therapy, expressive arts, or EMDR.

Ages 3 - 12
As a parent/caregiver, it can feel confusing to know what is best for the children in your life. If you believe your child may need therapy, looking into play therapy is a good place to begin. We understand it can be overwhelming. You can feel free to call us to ask questions regarding Play Therapy. Tabonuco is designed for children: all our clinicians are trained to work with children as young as 3, all our offices are child friendly, and we have spaces specifically designated for play therapy. Our individual sessions for children are 30 - 50 minutes and designed for your child to work at their own developmental level using non-directive play therapy, expressive arts, or EMDR. Play therapy is an evidenced based approach for working with children and an advanced method of healing. While our therapists may use different skills and techniques with children, play must be incorporated for the therapy to be successful because it provides a developmentally appropriate approach to address the needs of children. Our clinicians have had years of training to understand how to work with children, are working towards becoming Registered Play Therapists, and are under the direct supervision of Dr. Phipps, who is a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. Additional information on the research of play therapy can be found by clicking on the title of this section.

Parenting Help
There is no handbook for every child/adolescent and every situation you will face as a parent. If we are meeting with your child or adolescent, we will also meet with you periodically. Our clinicians at Tabonuco strive to understand the needs of your child and create a therapeutic plan to help you be successful in parenting. Our parent meetings, on average, are 50 minutes and scheduled before we begin therapy with your child and every 4th session after. They are designed to teach you the skills to build a strong relationship with your child/adolescent and to navigate the different issues you may be facing. We also understand that you may sometimes need extra support outside of the standard parent meetings. Together we can navigate this to get you the help you need. These will be more individualized in nature. In addition to what is covered in the standard parent meetings, they will also be designed to offer support for your wellbeing. We believe the more emotionally healthy you are as a parent, the more you can emotionally give to your child or adolescent.

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Processing. It is an effective therapy that treats trauma and many other issues, such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, grief, phobias, and many others. It uses bilateral stimulation (normally eye movements) to process the past, the present, and to experience freedom in the future. Our clinicians are trained, certified, or working towards certification in EMDR. Our clinicians are also trained to use EMDR with both adults and children. We understand that every person is unique, so we tailor EMDR to meet your, or your child’s, specific needs. For more information on EMDR, click on the tiitle of this section.
