Devyn Pugh

Therapist

Devyn works with children ages 3+ years, adolescents, and adults. She works with those who are experiencing concerns including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and trauma. Devyn believes in the healing potential of each person and is honored to walk alongside her clients as they work towards optimal wellness. Devyn is currently in training to utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to assist clients who have experienced trauma. Devyn is trained in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients process and understand distressing thoughts and experiences. She is also trained in utilizing Child-Centered Play Therapy when working with children. Devyn uses collaborative and evidence-based approaches when working with clients. She acknowledges that everyone’s therapeutic journey is unique, and she strives to honor each individual’s treatment needs. Devyn completed her clinical counseling internship at Hickory Grove Counseling Center before starting at Tabonuco. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and son, hanging out with friends, and listening to music.

Credentials

  • Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA)

  • Pursuing credentialing as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT)

  • Trained in EMDR - working towards Certification

Education

  • M.A. in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary

  • B.A. in Psychology, Minor in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte
