Kimberly Weaver
Therapist
Kimberly works with clients working through various concerns, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, unresolved trauma, and relational challenges. She genuinely finds it a privilege to witness and hold space for those in the process of overcoming their darkest moments in life. She approaches counseling from a person-centered (you come first) and trauma-informed (everyone experiences some form of trauma) lens and utilize evidence-based (tried & tested) therapies such as Internal Family Systems, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Additionally, Kim recognizes that one size does not fit all and believes in remaining culturally sensitive, flexible, and collaborative in my approach to therapy. Her work with children includes Client-Centered Play Therapy and EMDR. Kim has a particular interest in working with individuals who have experienced racial identity issues & racial trauma, faith-based trauma (church hurt & crisis of faith), and those in need of spiritual refreshing (soul care).
Before coming to Tabonuco, Kimberly worked in higher education, nonprofit management, and philanthropy with a special focus on serving Black and Brown youth and young adults. She also completed a counseling internship in 2022 at Hickory Grove Counseling Center providing outpatient therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling, a good cup of coffee in the morning, and peace found in the spiritual disciplines of silence and solitude.
