Working with parents is an essential, yet often challenging, part of play therapy. Many clinicians feel underprepared, struggle to feel confident, or feel like they are fighting against the parents in this process. This brief training will discuss practical strategies and tips for engaging parents as partners in the therapeutic process. Learning Objectives: Identify two reasons the clinician should work with parents. Identify two qualities necessary to foster an environment conducive to effective treatment in play therapy with parents. Describe the steps for a follow-up parent meeting.
